Sometimes, movies will inspire you to drink a beer better than any commercial. Every now and then, a movie scene will inspire you to hit the pause button and dash to your fridge for your favorite brew.
In honor of this, we’ve compiled a set of classic beer-drinking movie scenes to remind you how movies and beer are the perfect pairing.
Of course, there is another category of movie that makes you want to reach for a beer because it’s so bad, but we’ll leave that for another day.

A guaranteed thirst-inducing classic scene. So good, Carlsberg reused the clip in a commercial years after the movie was released.
4. The Shawshank Redemption
Great scene from a great movie. Icy cold beer never looked to appealing.
5. Strange Brew
This entire movie is the ultimate beer-drinking companion, but here’s a great taster, eh.
6. The Big Lebowski
A beer is never far the The Dude and a beer is probably the best beverage to enjoy with this movie.
7. Old School
Old School is one of those movies that gets better with each viewing, and, coincidentally with each beer. Here’s the scene featuring the return of ‘Frank the Tank’.

I’ve never seen Ice Cold in Alex but am a fan of all the other movies.
Just watched the entire 7:47 of the Shawshank scene. Love that movie and that scene. So many great quotes like:
“That’s great, it’s like winning the sweepstakes.”
